Benefits the Colorado HS Cycling League Scholarship Fund

All proceeds from buyer and seller entries will go to benefit the Colorado High School Cycling League Scholarship Fund.

The Boulder Bike Swap is the vision of cycling fanatic, father of young riders and Boulder Bicycle Works owner Brian Hannon.

Its goal is threefold:

  1. Create an event where cyclists can buy and sell bikes and bike gear
  2. Support the Colorado High School Cycling League Scholarship Fund
  3. Celebrate the amazing cycling community we have in and around Boulder County!

As the father of 2 daughters who'll be mountain biking for Boulder High School this fall, Brian is donating all proceeds from entry fees to the Colorado High School Cycling League Scholarship Fund. If you don't know about this fantastic organization, make sure to visit their website.

And that's the short of it, so let's get into the details!

WHAT [is a bike swap]

Bike Swap: (n) a magical place where you can a) sell your good-but-unwanted cycling gear and bikes, b) buy cycling gear and bikes at great prices, c) meet and mingle with like-minded cycling enthusiasts!

[It's kinda like a garage sale, but waaay better and more fun.]

WHO [can sell & buy]

The Boulder Bike Swap is open to the public.

Individuals, teams, organizations, businesses, etc., are all invited to sell or shop.

Get your team together and make a day of it. Promote your brand and bond with buds. The more, the merrier!

Sellers: Get rid of your good-but-unwanted cycling gear and bikes. Admission for selling is a flat fee of $15 or $25. Sellers keep profits made from sales.

We're offering two different selling stall sizes:

  • 6' x 10' @ $15
  • 10' x 10' @ $25

Buyers: Come on down! Admission is just $5 (cash only) for adults & free for anyone 18 and under.

*Proceeds from all buyer and seller admission fees go straight to the Colorado High School Cycling Scholarship Fund.

Sunday, June 23rd, 2019

Doors open from 10am to 3pm.

Sellers - Set up is 8:30am to 9:45am Sunday morning, and tear down is 3pm-4:30pm.

The Bike Swap will be held in the parking lot east of Boulder Bicycle Works at 2886 Bluff Street in Boulder (just across the street from RallySport Fitness).

Car parking is available on the west side of building and on Bluff Street or 29th Street. The Pros Closet has also generously donated their parking lot located just up the street from the swap on the southwest corner of Valmont and 29th.

Ride your bike over! We're located just off the Goose Creek Bike Path and there is ample bike parking in front of the shop.

Coming to Boulder from out of town? Make a day of it!

Bring the bike and hit the local trails, tear it up at Valmont Bike Park, meander the scenic farm roads, or conquer an iconic Boulder climb! After the Bike Swap, finish the day at one of the many excellent local eateries. Bike deals and sweet memories...what could be better?

But more specifically, because who wouldn't want to:

  1. Enjoy an event where cyclists like you are buying & selling bike stuff
  2. Support Colorado teens riding and racing bikes
  3. Celebrate the cycling community and have some fun?

HOW [to sell your gear]

Alright, Sellers - we're keeping it simple...

1. Reserve your spot.

Visit Boulder Bicycle Works during store hours to secure your spot. Spaces are limited!

Reserve your space for a flat fee of $15 or $25 - you keep what you make. We're offering two different selling stall sizes: Cash only, please.

  • 6' x 10' @ $15 - Perfect if you have just a few things to sell. Bring a table or blanket.
  • 10' x 10' @ $25 - Great for unloading your bike(s) + your unwanted gear. Accommodates a pop-up!

2. Set up shop.

Bring your sale items to the parking lot between 8:30am - 9:45am Sunday morning and be ready to sell when the doors open at 10am. We are providing the space. Please bring whatever you need to sell your goods: tables, blankets, popup tents, Venmo accounts, cash, etc.

3. Sell!

Price your goods to sell. Presentation helps sales, too. Clean up those used parts to make them more attractive to buyers.

4. Mind your business.

Stay with your items all day. Sellers are responsible for handling all transactions and sales. Boulder Bicycle Works is not responsible in any way for theft, fraud, broken or lost items, bounced checks, wooden nickels, haggled-over sales, etc.

5. Get Social!

Meet your neighbors, talk bikes, make ride plans and have fun. When two bikes roll together, you've got more than just four wheels - you've got a community in the making.

6. Break it down.

Selling stops at 3pm. Please clear your space by 4:30pm on Sunday. Have gear that's good but you don't want to take home? Donate it to Community Cycles. They're located just a few blocks from the shop and they're open until 6pm on Sundays.

Reserve your spot today!

Stop by Boulder Bicycle Works during shop hours to reserve your spot.
